Haiku and Global Poverty: Dóchas poetry competition launched.
We are proud to announce a new Irish poetry competition.
In the age of Tweets and 140 character messages, Haiku and Senryu present the ideal art form for those of us concerned with global poverty.
Oxfam’s Duncan Green toyed with the idea of promoting Haiku about global justice issues. His “wonkus” were interesting, and a good start, but not quite up to scratch from an artistic point of view. (He later posted some more)
Dóchas has now teamed up with the Irish Haiku Society, to launch Ireland’s first Haiku & Senryu competition about global poverty!
Good luck, and may the best haiku win!
