#Beating Blue Monday
Monday 20 January is supposedly the most depressing day of the year. There is actually no scientific basis for that statement, but it has become one of those urban myths that people refer to. Whether fact or fiction, Irish NGOs thought it deserved a few good news stories.
Research shows that people in Ireland do not think that developing countries are making much progress, despite strong evidence that, in fact, things are looking up for hundreds of millions of people around the world. “The World’s Best News” aims to counter the negativity and the stereotypes:
On 20 January, Irish NGOs turned to Twitter and Facebook, to share the good news from the developing world.
